About Belinda

 

Belinda Newcomer, PhD, NCC, LMHC is passionate, dedicated and excited about the opportunity to assist you with your counseling needs. Dr. Newcomer is currently licensed by the State of Florida to provide psychotherapy and holds an inactive license in the State of Texas. She earned her undergraduate degree from The University of Oklahoma and her Master’s from The University of Memphis.  Dr. Newcomer has a Doctorate in Psychology from Capella University.  Her dissertation was in the specific area of sport psychology and motivation.

*  Client Services Director for a Crisis Center (domestic violence, sexual assault)

*  MAPP Trainer

*  Therapeutic Foster Care Therapist

 

Dr. Newcomer is currently in private practice in the Orlando, FL market.  In addition,

she is an adjunct faculty member, and a Child & Youth Behavioral Military & Family Life Consultant (CYB-MFLC) for the Department of Defense.  She has almost 20 years of professional experience to assist you.

Dr. Newcomer and her husband attend St. Luke’s Methodist Church where she has facilitated the divorce recovery groups, taught children’s Sunday school and has served on the health and wellness committee. She was nominated, selected and alumni of the Leadership Tyler program in Tyler, TX. She believes in community involvement and improving health through the mind, body and spirit. Dr. Newcomer is an avid distance runner and triathlete.  She enjoys traveling, reading and spending time with family and friends.
